International cooperation
We cooperate with several dozen institutions, organizations, and Polonia societies from all over the world. We are also interested in gaining new partners and offering them our support in the conservation, arrangement, digitalization, and, above all, the dissemination of their archival materials. If necessary, we can also arrange transport of archival materials to the IPN Archive in Warsaw.
Our proposal
Organization of the archive
We support our partners in the valuation and arrangement of their archival holdings as well as archival organizational methods.
Training
We train our partner’s staff in the areas of arrangement, description, conservation, and digitalization. Training can take place at the partner’s premises, at the IPN Archive in Warsaw or on-line.
Storage and access
We create digital collections of our partners’ archival materials on secure IPN servers, made available free of charge. In this way they are always accessible for a broad range of readers.
Digitalization
We support our partners in the digitalization of their archival resources at the institute by assistance in the purchase or loan of scanners. We can also deliver digitalized materials on external discs and make space available on IPN’s servers.
Arrangement and organization
We support our partners in the preliminary review and arrangement of their archival materials according to principles agreed on earlier.
Records
We help our partners to prepare information about the collected materials in the form of inventories, indexes, catalogs and other finding aids or guides to facilitate use of their archival repository.
Conservation and fumigation
All archival materials entrusted are disinfected. We offer professional conservation of archival materials or consultations regarding the independent preservation of documents.
Technical services
We support our partners in the purchase of professional folders and boxes, the appropriate repackaging of archival materials in the above-mentioned, and the pagination of documents.
