Donate documents

Family treasures are often unknown documents and objects, but they tell the personal histories of the exceptional people behind them. We collect these scraps of history, which will not be forgotten, thanks to cooperation between donors and historians. Interesting articles and podcasts based on these materials will reach a broader range of people.

Five easy steps

  1. Scan or take a photograph (with your phone) of your documents.
  2. Send us the scans or photographs using the online form ↓

If you can’t use the contact form, please send us copies of your documents via regular mail addressed to: Archiwum Pełne Pamięci, ul. Janusza Kurtyki 1, 02-676 Warszawa, or email them to: app@ipn.gov.pl.

We will contact you via phone, e-mail, or in person.

After a preliminary examination of your documents, we will inform you as to whether they can be included in the Archive Full of Remembrance. If the documents are not in IPN’s area of interest we will recommend an institution to you that could take care of your collection.

We will invite you for a meeting.

Your documents will be transferred to the IPN archival repository.

Your collections will be professionally protected – we will do everything to ensure that they are not damaged and that they are properly conserved. As well, they will be thoroughly analyzed by our historians and compiled and organized by our archivists.

You will receive a donor’s certificate.

In appreciation of your donation you will receive a special document certifying your donation of archival materials to the Archive Full of Remembrance.

Let’s talk about your documents

Send us your documents, photographs and other family treasures for a preliminary examination. Our historians will assess them and decide whether they can be included in the Archive Full of Remembrance. If the documents are not in IPN’s area of interest we will try to recommend an institution to you that could take care of your collection.
